Cougars visit Green Wave for four-game set
NEW ORLEANS – Houston opens a four-game series Friday when the Cougars take on No. 25 Tulane from Greer Field at Turchin Stadium. The teams play a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. Friday with the second game underway 45 minutes following the conclusion of the opener.

Saturday's contest gets underway at 4 p.m. and Sunday's finale starts at 1 p.m. All four contests can be seen on ESPN+. Jeremy Branham will have the call on Stretch Live.Â

Houston and Tulane have met 90 times with Houston holding a 50-40 advantage (series dates to 1986). The Cougars have won six of the last seven three-game series at Tulane, including a pair of sweeps (2007-present). Houston is 16-11 against Tulane since AAC play began.
Houston will play 12 of its final 16 contests on the road beginning with four games at Tulane. Barring changes, Houston will finish the regular season having played 27 road games and 24 home games. The 27 road games would be the most for a Houston team since playing 28 in 2006.

Houston second baseman Brad Burckel led Houston with a .429 average (6-for-14) last weekend vs. USF. Burckel registered three extra-base hits and as many stolen bases in four games against the Bulls. In 17 games since March 21, Burckel leads Houston in average (.322), runs (13), hits (19) and stolen bases (6).

Tulane moved into first place in the American Athletic Conference with a four-game sweep of Memphis last weekend while limiting the Tigers to a .169 average. The Green Wave (21-13, 10-1 AAC) have won 10 consecutive games and are ranked No. 25 nationally by Perfect Game.
