Houston hosts USF in four-game set
HOUSTON – Houston returns to Don Sanders Field at Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park when the Cougars host USF in a four-game series beginning with a doubleheader at noon Saturday. Game 2 will begin 45 minutes following the conclusion of Game 1. The teams will also play a doubleheader Sunday with the 10 a.m. opener scheduled for seven innings. The finale, beginning 45 minutes following the opener's conclusion, is set for nine innings.

All four games can be seen on ESPN+ and heard via Stretch Live with Jeremy Branham on the call for both broadcasts.

Entering the season, only nine members of Houston's 44-man roster (20%) had played in an AAC game. Position players in their first or second season with the program have contributed 69% of home runs, 65% of runs, 64% of hits and 61% of RBIs. Pitchers in their first or second year in the program have totaled 94% of games started, 92% of victories, 79% of innings pitched and 78% of strikeouts.

Houston is 13-4 when scoring three-plus runs, 11-0 when out-hitting opponents and 11-0 when leading after six innings. Houston is 8-3 when leading after two innings and 9-2 when leading after three innings.

USF's first eight games of conference action have come against in-state rival UCF. The Bulls' four-game set against Tulane, set for April 9-11, was postponed. USF dropped three-of-four last weekend to UCF. The Bulls' challenging non-conference slate was highlighted by a series victory against a Florida Atlantic program that was receiving votes at the time.
