Houston travels to Austin for Friday meeting with highly ranked Texas
HOUSTON – Coming off a three-match weekend, the Houston tennis team travels to Austin, Texas, to face the No.2 Texas Longhorns on Friday at the Texas Tennis Center.
Most recently Houston finished up a doubleheader sweep of UTRGV on Monday while the Longhorns have not lost since February 7.

SUCCESSFUL SPAINARD
In her first year from Guadalajara, Spain, Blanca Cortijo Parreno has made an immediate impact for the program. Playing mainly on court six, Parreno is now 12-4 this season in singles play.
Plus, she's amassed a 9-2 record in doubles action playing alongside Azul Pedemonti since early in the season.
BUILDING BESOVIC
Coaching the Cougars for her third season, Head Coach Helena Besovic has continued to find great success building her program. With the team sitting at 12 victories, Besovic is closing in on her 100th victory with her current total at 93. Having notched 14 wins in her first season at the helm, the Cougars can record a new highest win total under the Besovic this season.
The former TCU standout and McNeese head coach, Besovic has a 93-49 career record as a head coach for a 0.655 winning percentage.
SCOUTING THE LONGHORNS
One of the top teams in the nation, Texas holds a 17-1 record. The Longhorns boast five ranked singles competitors and four ranked doubles pairs.
The Longhorns are 2-1 over the Cougars all-time, but Houston won the most recent meeting 6-1 on March 7, 2015 at the Houston Country Club.
UP NEXT
After meeting the Longhorns, Houston will rest for a week before welcoming Prairie View A&M for a doubleheader next Friday. The team's return to home on April 9 will also be the program's rescheduled Senior Day.
