Houston to Compete at Colin Montgomerie HBU Invitational

Laurence Crea, Trip Morris & Hanseung Chang to compete as individuals
SPRING, Texas – Three University of Houston Men's Golfers will represent the Cougars as individuals at the Colin Montgomerie Invitational, beginning Monday morning at Augusta Pines Golf Club.
Senior Laurence Crea, sophomore Trip Morris and senior Luke Long will continue their spring seasons on the 7,015-yard, par-72 course.
Morris leads the Cougars with a 73.50 scoring average in two tournaments this season. The Long Beach State transfer posted a 2-under 142 at the Rice Intercollegiate on Jan. 25 and tied for 29th at the Border Olympics on Feb. 22-23.
Crea will be competing in his second tournament of the season after tying for 16th at the Rice Intercollegiate at 149.
Long has appeared in two tournaments to date this spring and was an PING All-Central Region performer a year ago.

TEAM FIELD
The Cougar trio will compete against Gonzaga, Missouri State, New Orleans, North Dakota, Prairie View A&M, Southeastern Louisiana, Stephen F. Austin, UIW, UT Rio Grande Valley, Weber State and host Houston Baptist.
PAIRINGS
The Cougars will play 36 holes Monday beginning with an 8:15 a.m., shotgun start. Crea starts the tournament off No 17 with Morris (No. 16) and Long (No. 15) following.

The tournament wraps up with the Round on Tuesday morning.

Following the Colin Montgomerie HBU Invitational, Houston will play host to one of the nation's premier collegiate tournaments in the Valspar Collegiate Invitational. This elite event will be held March 15-16 at Floridian National Golf Club in Palm City, Fla.
From there, the Cougars will close the month of March at the N.I.T, hosted by Arizona at Omni Tucson National Resort in Tucson, Ariz., on March 20-21.
Fans should note that the N.I.T. was a recent addition to the Cougars' schedule.

Fans are invited to join Project 17 to support Houston Women's Golf. Project members provide financial support directly to Houston Men's Golf for needs beyond the program's operating budget.
