Cougars look to tie series Saturday
SAN MARCOS, Texas – The University of Houston Softball team fell to --/RV Texas State by a score of 6-1 on Friday night.

The Cougars move to 7-7 on the season, while the Bobcats improve to 8-3. Friday night snaps Houston's three-game winning streak against Texas State.

Junior Kati Ray Brown led the way for the Cougars with a pair of hits, her third contest of the season with multi-hits in a game. She was joined by redshirt senior Sarah Queen and sophomore Britaney Shaw as those to collect a base-hit on Friday.

In the circle, junior Rachel Hertenberger tossed her third complete game of the year, striking out five batters in her six innings of work.
KEY INNINGS
1st | Texas State jumped out to the first lead of the game, scoring three runs to take a 3-0 advantage.
6th | The Bobcats plated another three runs to push their lead to 6-0.

7th | After Queen led the inning off with a single to right, Shaw then stepped up to the plate and recorded a single of her own to allow Brown to drive in Houston's lone run of the game.
