Cougars to face Bears for two-game series
HOUSTON – Coming off its win over No. 7/7 Oklahoma State, the University of Houston Softball team travels to Waco, Texas to face RV/RV Baylor for a two-game weekend series with the Bears.
The battle between Houston and Baylor has been at a gridlock as of late, with each side winning four games in the past eight matchups. When Houston last traveled to Waco in 2019, the Cougars swept the midweek doubleheader, marking the first time in the series' history Houston has taken both games of a doubleheader.
When Houston upset No. 7/7 Oklahoma State on March 13, it marked the Cougars' first win over a ranked team this season and extend the program's streak to six years in a row that such an accomplishment has been achieved. Now in her fifth year at the helm of the program, Head Coach Kristin Vesely has guided Houston to a win against a ranked opponent every year she has led the Cougars.
