The American honors Grant after goal and assist against Rice
HOUSTON – Senior Jazmin Grant was named to this week's American Athletic Conference Honor Roll, the conference announced Monday.
Grant led the Cougars to a 2-0 victory over Rice last Thursday night with a goal and an assist. Grant's 8th minute header put Houston ahead before she slid a long pass to Adriana Hutson for the 24th minute goal.
Thursday's goal and assist marked Grant's second of the season in each category as she is tied for the team lead with six points. The Atascocita, Texas, native now has 16 goals and 11 assists during her college career.
This is the team's second honor of the season after goalkeeper Salma Ghazal was named to the honor roll the week of March 1.
