Houston hits road for contests at Whataburger Field
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Houston Baseball continues its stretch of contests against A&M-Corpus Christi, visiting the Islanders for a three-game set beginning Friday at 6 p.m. from Whataburger Field. Saturday's matchup is set for 6 p.m. and Sunday's finale starts at 1 p.m.
All three games can be seen on FloBaseball.tv, an online streaming service with plans beginning at $12.99 per month. Fans can also listen via Stretch Live with Shaun Bijani on the call.
Houston is off to a 4-0 start for the first time since 2016 and eyeing the program's first 5-0 start since 2015. Houston's .370 average, 42 runs, 51 hits and 10 home runs are the highest marks for a Cougar team through the first four games in the new millennium.

Houston raced past A&M-Corpus Christi, 12-8 on Tuesday at Schroeder Park. Houston hit five home runs for the first time since clubbing as many on March 6, 2016 vs. Baylor. In the win, Houston scored double-digit runs (12) for a third straight game, marking the first time the program has done so since March 5-8, 2013.
Houston is 7-2 all-time against A&M-Corpus Christi with the first meeting coming in 2012. The Cougars have won four consecutive in the series. Houston won the last meeting in Corpus Christi, 4-2 on Feb. 26, 2017 at Whataburger Field.
Houston outfielder Steven Rivas and pitcher Robert Gasser were named AAC Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week on Monday. Last weekend, Rivas paced the AAC in five categories including slugging (1.700) and total bases (17). Gasser held Texas Southern hitters to 1-of-16 (.063) while fanning a career high seven.

Houston wraps its four-game road trip with a fifth consecutive matchup against the Southland Conference when it visits Lamar on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The Cougars return home one week from Friday to open a three-game series against Texas at Schroeder Park.
