
Houston Returns to Fertitta Center this Weekend

Cougars meet Cincinnati at Noon, Sunday
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Men's Basketball program return to action when it faces American Athletic Conference rival Cincinnati at Noon, Sunday, inside the Fertitta Center.
Fans should note that Sunday's game was a recent addition to the Cougars' schedule. The game was originally scheduled to be played on Jan. 23 in Houston but was postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the Bearcats program.
No. 6/5 Houston enters this weekend's game following a tough 68-63 loss at Wichita State on Thursday night in Wichita, Kan. The Cougars overcame a 10-point deficit in the second half and had a chance to take the lead late, but a costly turnover sealed the win for the Shockers.
Senior guard DeJon Jarreau led the for Houston with 16 points and three assists against Wichita State. The New Orleans native leads the Cougars with 80 assists in 2020-21 and is poised to become only the eighth player in school history with 3+ seasons with 100+ assists during his Houston career.
Jarreau also recently moved past the 1,000-point mark in his collegiate career and enters Sunday's game with a total of 1,029 points.
Junior guard Quentin Grimes finished with 13 points against the Shockers and leads the Cougars and ranks fourth in the American with 16.7 points per contest. The Woodlands, Texas, native needs only 34 points to join Jarreau with 1,000 points in his collegiate career.
Senior forward Justin Gorham continues to lead the Cougars and the league with 9.9 rebounds per game. The Columbia, Md., native is looking to become the first Cougar average double-digit rebounds for an entire season since Louis Truscott during the 2002-03 campaign.
