Conference Slate Kicks Off at East Carolina
HOUSTON – The Houston Cougars look to continue their unbeaten start to the season as they travel to East Carolina for both their first American conference game of the season and first overall road contest of the year. The Cougars will face the Pirates at 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at Johnson Stadium.Â
Houston is looking to continue their momentum following an 8-0 victory on Wednesday night over Texas Southern as the team has currently outscored their opponents 11-1. Â
The offensive attack is led by Mia Brascia, Zionah Browne, Natalie Anderson, and Caleigha Callahan who all have two goals apiece. Brascia and Browne have each tallied assists and share the team lead with five points. Â
In net, all three goalkeepers have seen action early in the season. Salma Ghazal started the squad's season opener while Kate Godfrey and Mikaela Gracia split time against Texas Southern. Â
 Â
Saturday's matchup will be East Carolina's second of the season after they fell 1-0 to Old Dominion on February 4. Last season the Cougars topped the Pirates on a goal in the 97th minute as East Carolina finished the season 5-10-3 under head coach Jason Hamilton. Â
The game can be found streaming on ESPN+ while live statistics can be found here.Â
