
Men’s Golf Completes Second Round at Blessings Collegiate Invitational

54-hole event wraps up with Final Round on Wednesday
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Houston Men's Golf program stood in 10th place following the Second Round of the Blessings Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday evening.
The Cougars bettered their First-Round total by three shots with a score of 299 on Tuesday and finished with a 36-hole score of 602 on the 7,700-yard, par-72 course at Blessings Golf Club
Host Arkansas maintained the lead at 565 with Illinois in second at 566. Mississippi (567), Tennessee (569) and North Carolina (574) rounded out the Top-Five leaders.
Senior Alexander Frances led the Cougars with a score of 149 and was tied for 33rd. Redshirt freshman Jacob Borow was tied for 38th at 150, while senior Andrew Gibson was tied for 42nd at 151. Senior Braxton Watkins was tied for 46th at 152 with junior Austyn Reily tied for 50th at 155.
Arkansas' Luke Long continued to stand atop the individual leaderboard at 134. Arizona's Chase Sienkiewicz was in second at 137, while Jackson Suber (Mississippi), Jiri Zuaka (Louisville), Austin Greaser (North Carolina) and Piercen Hunt (Arkansas) were tied for third at 139.
The wraps up with the final 18 holes Wednesday.
This is the third of four fall tournaments for the Cougars.

From there, Houston will take its winter break before opening the spring season at the Border Olympics on Feb. 14-15 at Laredo Country Club in Laredo, Texas.
