Men’s Hoops Season Tickets Sell Out for 3rd Straight Year

HOUSTON – With less than a week before its exhibition opener, the University of Houston Men's Basketball program once again sold out of season tickets for the 2021-22 season.

Due to overwhelming response from fans and coming off its recent NCAA Final Four appearance, Houston Athletics opened additional season ticket inventory for the upcoming season to meet the demand.

"We want to thank our amazing fans for their unwavering support of our Men's Basketball program. Selling out of season tickets for the third consecutive season is a testament to Coach Sampson, our coaches, student-athletes and staff and the sustained success that has been built within our program," Vice President for Athletics Chris Pezman said.

A limited number of single-game tickets for 17 regular-season home games inside the Fertitta Center are all that remains, so fans should act quickly to purchase those tickets before supplies run out.

"I want to thank our fans for their support," said Head Coach Kelvin Sampson, who enters his eighth season with the Cougars. "We are going to show up and give the best effort we can give, and our fans give us their best effort, and that's what makes the team."

HOOP HYPE XL TICKETS
Fans also now have the opportunity to purchase tickets for the Cougars' Dec. 18 game against rv/rv Oklahoma State inside Dickies Arena in the Hoop Hype XL | College Basketball Showcase in Fort Worth, Texas. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.

That game will be part of a doubleheader with Colorado State facing Tulsa at 2:30 p.m., Dec. 18. Tickets – which cover both games – begin at $70 plus fees with options for floor seating. Fans are encouraged to buy their tickets soon before supplies run out.

2022-23 SEASON TICKETS PRIORITY WAIT LIST

ABOUT the COUGARS
The Cougars will play 17 regular-season games inside the Fertitta Center this season, beginning at 7 p.m., Nov. 9, against Hofstra inside the Fertitta Center. The 2021-22 season officially tips off with a 3 p.m., Nov. 6 exhibition game against Montana Tech inside the Fertitta Center.

For the second straight season, the Cougars stand among the nation's Top 15 in both preseason national polls. The Cougars stood at No. 15 in the Associated Press poll and were ranked at No. 14 in the first Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll of the year.

In addition, Houston was picked to win the American Athletic Conference for the third consecutive season under Sampson in voting done by the league's head coaches.

Under Sampson's leadership, the Cougars are the second-winningest program in the nation since 2017-18, piling up 111 victories.

In 2020-21, the Cougars posted a perfect 15-0 home record inside the Fertitta Center and have won their last 25 home games. That ranks as the fourth longest home winning streak in the nation, entering the 2021-22 campaign.
