Houston Tennis to Compete in Regionals at TCU

Cougars will begin play on Thursday in Fort Worth
HOUSTON – Six members of the University of Houston tennis program will compete Thursday through Sunday at TCU for the ITA Division I Women's Texas Regional Championship.

The following Cougars will compete in both doubles and singles play:

Laura Slisane
Azul Pedemonti
Gabriela Giraldo
Maria Dzemeshkevich
Blanca Cortijo Parreno

Houston hosted its fall tournament two weekend ago resulting in success for three Cougars. Junior Azul Pedemonti defeated SMU's Katherine Jakeway on Saturday (6-4, 7-5) while sophomore Gabriela Giraldo defeated SMU's Winslow Huth (6-2, 6-3). During Sunday's competition, sophomore Blanca Cortijo Parreno defeated North Texas' Likhitha Kalava (6-3, 6-3).
