Five Top Finishes Highlight H-Town SpeedCity Series

Houston women finish atop team standings with 173 points
HOUSTON- The University of Houston Women's Track & Field team secured five first-place finishes en route to first-place finish in the team standings at the second installments of the H-Town SpeedCity Series.
Houston finished with 173 points, leading second-place finisher Cincinnati by 49 points.
Priscilla Adejokun got things going for the Cougars with a first-place finish and meet record in the Weight Throw. Adejokun earned a mark of 19.33m (63-05.00) on her first attempt to win the event. Nu'uausala Tuilefano placed fourth in the Weight Throw with personal-best toss of 16.02m (52-06.75), closing out the day with a second-place finish in the Shot Put with a personal-best of 14.97m (49-01.50).
In the 1-Mile, Macie Ellis earned the second podium finish of the day for UH with a second-place finish at 5:22.76. This marks her first appearance in the 1-Mile this season.
The 400-meter was highlighted by a pair of top-three Houston finishes. Zarie Dumas lit up the track with the fastest time in The American this season at 55.96 for first-place in the event. Iman Babineaux clocked a personal-best time of 56.07 for third-place and the third-fastest time in the league this season.
Naomi Taylor continues to pace the Cougars in the 60-meter hurdles, with a season-best 8.29 in the prelims. Taylor won the event, clocking a time of 8.34 and was joined the final by Winter Bogan who finished eighth at 8.73.
In the 60-meter, Camille Rutherford shattered the meet record twice, winning the event with the 24th-fastest time among collegians this season at 7.41. She was joined in the final by Cecilia Tamayo-Garza who set a personal-best in both the prelims and the finals, taking fourth-place with a time of 7.53.
The 200-meter featured four top-five finishes by the Cougars led by Tamayo-Garza with a second-place finish at 24.02. Dumas finished in third at 24.32, followed by Rutherford in fourth-place (24.35) and Taylor in fifth-place (24.79).
Sarah Howe tied her personal-best in the Pole Vault to take third-place. She cleared 3.81m (12-05.50) and holds the fourth-best mark in program history.
The Cougars secured four of the top-five spots in the 3000-meter led by a first-place finish from Madeline Castleberry. Castleberry led Houston with a personal-best time of 10:18.15.
Iman Babineaux, Jazmyn Tilford-Rutherford, Cecilia Tamayo-Garza and Zarie Dumas combine for a time of 3:47.26 in the 4x400-meter relay. The squad finished second in the event.
HOUSTON ATTENDANCE POLICY
Due to limited seating and capacity related to COVID-19 precautions, Houston will not allow fans for the 2021 Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field season.
