
Houston Returns Home for H-Town SpeedCity Series

Women set to compete Friday, men on Saturday
HOUSTON- The University of Houston Track & Field team will return to action on Jan. 29-30 inside Yeoman Fieldhouse for the second installment of the H-Town SpeedCity Series.

Meet action is set to begin at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Fans can watch the meet via the Houston Track & Field Facebook page.

The Cougars have had success at home this season, posting nine first-place finishes in its season opener on Jan. 16. Hailey Pollard and Nu'uausala Tuilefano return to action for the third time this season after helping the Cougars have a stellar outing at the Texas A&M Aggie Invitational. Tuilefano posted a pair of collegiate best in both the Shot Put and the Weight Throw last weekend in College Station. Priscilla Adejokun put up strong marks in her first meet of the season, winning both the Shot Put and the Weight Throw.

Rachel Maciejeski has paced the women's pole vaulters with a pair of top-three finishes this season.

Zarie Dumas is set to compete in the 200-meter which she won during the first installments of the H-Town SpeedCity Series on Jan. 16.

Naomi Taylor will return to action after taking second-place in the 60-meter hurdles at Texas A&M, looking to improve upon her season-best time of 8.29 in the event.

Claire Meyer clinched a top-finish in the 3000-meter earlier this season and will hit the track tomorrow in the 1-mile.

On the men's side, Triston Gibbons returns to action after posting a collegiate-best in the Shot Put last weekend for first place in the event. Christyan Sampy has posted a pair of podium finishes in the pole vault this season and looks to extend this streak on Saturday.

Jadon Brome will look to remain undefeated at home in the Triple Jump after winning the event in the Cougars season opener.

The 60-meter will be filled with Cougar red with 11 Houston sprinters set to compete in the event. Nicholas Alexander previously won the event on Jan. 16, setting a personal-best in the process.

Much like the 60-meter, the 200-meter will feature 11 UH sprinters as Jordan Booker looks to capture his second first-place finish of the season in the event.

HOUSTON ATTENDANCE POLICY
Due to limited seating and capacity related to COVID-19 precautions, Houston will not allow fans for the 2021 Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field season.
