
#21 Houston Closes Regular Season vs. Memphis

HOUSTON – The University of Houston Men's Basketball program closes its regular season schedule when it faces American Athletic Conference rival Memphis at 11 a.m., Sunday, inside the Fertitta Center.
The 21st-ranked Cougars continue to fight for a share of the American Athletic Conference regular-season championship. Houston can clinch at least a share of the league title for the second straight year with a win over Memphis on Sunday AND a Wichita State loss at Tulsa (3 p.m., Sunday, CBS Sports Network).
The Cougars have not won back-to-back regular-season conference titles since 1983-84.
Houston enters the regular-season finale following a tough 77-71 loss at UConn on Thursday night. Sophomore guard Quentin Grimes led the Cougars with 24 points and four 3-pointers, while redshirt freshman guard Caleb Mills added 20 points and grabbed six rebounds.
With his point total against UConn, Mills stands fourth in Houston freshmen single-season history with 405 points. The Arden, N.C., native needs only five points to move past Danuel House (2012-13) into third in Houston history.
Grimes stands second among the Cougars with 12.0 points per game, while sophomore guard Nate Hinton is third with 10.5 points per contest. Hinton also leads the Cougars and ranks fourth in the league with 8.8 rebounds per game.

SENIOR DAY
Prior to Sunday's game, the Cougars will celebrate Senior Day to honor center Chris Harris Jr., and student managers Charlton Riley and Andrew Tuan.
Fans should be in their seats by 10:45 a.m., Sunday, to enjoy the Senior Day ceremony.
In three years at Houston, Harris has been a part of teams, which have competed in two NCAA Tournaments, including the 2019 Sweet 16, earned one American regular-season title crown and collected 82 victories.
This season, the Houston native ranks among the top American leaders with 59 blocks and set a Fertitta Center record with six blocked shots in a win over Texas State in December 2019.
Harris will graduate in May with his bachelor's degree in health.
