Cougars take two-game win streak on the road
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Women's Basketball team heads to North Carolina for a midday meeting with ECU.
Tip-off is slated for Saturday at 12 p.m. CT inside the Minges Coliseum.
GAME NOTES
COUGAR FAST BREAK
• Houston enters Saturday's game with a 12-11 overall record this season, including a 5-4 mark in conference play.
• Houston has four players averaging double-digits this season led by Dymond Gladney with 12.2 points per game, followed by Dorian Branch with 11.2 points per game and Tatyana Hill 10.9. Julia Blackshell-Fair is the fourth Cougar in double-figures with 10.3 points per game.
• Houston is averaging 63.4 points per game on 38.9 percent shooting from the field and a 27.6 percent mark from beyond the 3-point line. The Cougars allow 67.1 points per game on defense while letting opponents shoot 41.1 percent and 30.5 percent from the field and beyond the arc, respectively.
• Hill and Blackshell-Fair leads Houston on the glass, pulling down 6.3 rebounds per contest.
• Houston is a force to be reckoned with on the boards this season, averaging 37.8 rebounds per game, including over 15 offensive boards per game.
• Houston forces 18.0 turnovers per game, with 15 or more forced turnovers in 20 of its 23 games this season. Under Coach Hughey, Houston has been one of the most active defensive teams in the country over the past two seasons. The Cougars are experts at protecting the rim, entering the game ranked 52nd nationally in blocks (95) and 72nd in Blocks Per Game (4.1).

• ECU enters Saturday's contest with an 4-17 overall record and 1-7 mark in conference play. • ECU is averaging 56.5 points per game on 34.9 percent shooting from the field and 26.1 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
• The Pirates enters their 1st season under Head Coach Kim McNeill and is led in scoring by Lashonda Monk who is averaging 14.6 points per game. Raven Johnson leads the Pirates on the boards with 8.3 rebounds per game, as Monk leads the squad with 80 assists each this season.
