Sam Houston State Tilt Moved to Cougar Softball Stadium

Cougars will face Bearkats at home
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Softball program has moved its Wednesday midweek contest with Sam Houston State to Cougar Softball Stadium and will be slated for a 6 p.m. first pitch.
Originally scheduled to take place at Sam Houston State, officials moved the event to Houston, due to inclement weather in the forecast in the Huntsville, Texas, area.
Holding an all-time record of 29-4 against the Bearkats, the Cougars enter the matchup having won the past eight contests with SHSU, including all three in 2019.
The last time these two met for a midweek battle was last season, when the Cougars' offense erupted for a 17-run outburst en route to the 17-1 takedown. Just two weeks after that, the two teams met again in the NCAA Austin Regional, where Houston advanced to the regional final with the 5-0 win over the Bearkats.

With a total of 10 midweek games on their schedule last season, the Cougars never let up in their midweek competitions, finishing the 2019 campaign with a 9-1 mark in games played between Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Some of Houston's biggest wins last year came in midweeks, taking down RV/RV Texas A&M before traveling to Waco, Texas, and sweeping the doubleheader against RV/-- Baylor.
Win the State
Houston has proven its worth as one of the best in the entire state, having posted a 13-3 record last season against opponents from the Lone Star State.
The Cougars won their first nine games of the season against Texas schools before they suffered their first loss, dropping its contest with the Texas (April 10). By the end of the season, Houston played 16 games against eight opponents from the state of Texas, taking down every team they faced except the Longhorns.
