
Houston Continues American Play at Temple

Cougars meet Owls at 6 p.m. (CST) Tuesday inside Liacouras Center in Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA – Winners of nine of its last 10 games, the University of Houston Men's Basketball program continues its American Athletic Conference schedule when it meets Temple at 6 p.m. (CST) Tuesday, inside the Liacouras Center.
The Cougars (11-3 • 1-0 American) enter Tuesday's game following an impressive 78-65 win over UCF inside the Fertitta Center on Friday in their American Athletic Conference opener. Sophomore guard Nate Hinton led all players with 20 points and set Fertitta Center records with 16 rebounds and five steals.
The Gastonia, N.C., native ranks second in The American with 9.7 rebounds per game and is one of only two players to stand among the league's Top-4 leaders in both offensive AND defensive rebounding.
The Cougars have established themselves as one of the nation's premier rebounding teams. Houston ranks second nationally in rebounding margin (+11.1) and offensive rebounding percentage (40.2), third in total rebounds (43.0 rpg) and fourth in offensive rebounds (14.9 orpg).
This will be the second straight season Houston opens its American road schedule at Temple. A year ago, the Owls claimed a 73-69 win in Philadelphia, snapping the Cougars' 15-game winning streak to open the 2018-19 season.
