Houston Returns to Action Against No. 17 LSU and Rice

Cougars open two days of meet action on Friday
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Swimming & Diving team will return to action for the second straight week when it welcomes No. 17 LSU and Rice to the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center from Jan. 31- Feb. 1.
Meet action is set to begin at 5 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday. Live results can be found via the Meet Mobile App.
The Cougars are receiving votes in the latest CSCAA Poll and return to action after defeating Arkansas last weekend in a 163.5 – 136.5 decision. Laura Laderoute had a stellar day in the pool for the Cougars posting a pair of first-place finishes against the Razorbacks, helping Houston take second in the 200 Medley Relay, taking first-place in the 100 Backstroke, second-place in the 200 Backstroke and first-place in the 200 IM. Zarena Brown also had a strong showing last weekend with a pair of first-place finishes against Arkansas, as the Cougars swept three events.
SCOUTING THE FIELD
The Cougars will face Rice for the third time this season. The Owls are coming off of victories against North Texas and SMU and are 5-1 in dual meets this season. No. 17 LSU visits Houston after most recently falling to No. 11 Texas A&M.
