
Houston Meets Cincinnati on Saturday

Cougars tip off vs. Bearcats at 5 p.m. (CST) inside Fifth Third Arena
CINCINNATI – Winners of 15 of its last 17 games, the University of Houston Men's Basketball program returns to action when it meets American Athletic Conference rival Cincinnati at 5 p.m. (CST) Saturday, inside Fifth Third Arena.
The Cougars (17-4 • 7-1 American) enter this weekend's game following a 69-59 win at ECU on Wednesday night. Against the Pirates, redshirt freshman guard Caleb Mills led Houston with 18 points, three 3-pointers and six assists, while sophomore guard Quentin Grimes added 15 points with six rebounds.
Center Chris Harris Jr. – the lone senior on the 2019-20 team – posted 10 points and 10 rebounds with four blocked shots for his second double-double of the season.
With that win, the Cougars moved atop the latest American Athletic Conference standings, a half game ahead of Tulsa.
Averaging 16.3 points in the last seven games, Mills recently moved into the team lead with 13.1 points per game, while Grimes stands second with 12.4 points per contest.
Sophomore guard Nate Hinton stands third among the Cougars with 10.4 points per game and leads Houston and ranks second in The American with 9.3 rebounds per contest.
Junior point guard DeJon Jarreau leads the Cougars with 3.8 assists per game and is only 21 assists from becoming the 19th player in school history to record multiple 100+ assist seasons during his career. A year ago, the New Orleans native finished with 100 assists and joined Galen Robinson Jr. and Corey Davis Jr. as only the fourth trio in school history to each record 100+ assists in a season.
