Hamberlin post pair of top-3 finishes
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Track & Field team concluded competition at the FasTrak Collegiate Invitational.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Christian Hamberlin started off the day with a third-place finish in the 60-meter at 6.81, after advancing to the final behind a time of 6.83. Three Cougars on the women's side advanced to the final of the 60-meter, led by a fourth-place finish by Justice Henderson at 7.71, followed by Ariele Adams in fifth-place (7.64) and Ashley Seymour in seventh-place (7.66)
Chelsie Shelling advanced to the final of the women's 60-meter hurdles finishing in fifth-place at 9.01. In the prelims, Shelling finished seventh at 9.01.
Hamberlin continued to have a stellar day, finishing first in the 200-meter at 21.65.
In the 400-meter, Brandon Adams posted the highest collegiate finish of the day at 8th-place with a time of 50.13. On the women's side Payge Side took second-place at 57.59.
In the 4x400-meter relay Matthias Petterway, Jalen Flowers, Christian Hamberlin and Colin Price combined for a first-place finish at 3:18.86 on the men's side. Sierra Leonard, Erin Derrow, Ashley Seymour and Side combined for a field-leading time of 3:50.51.
