TULSA, Okla. – The University of Houston Men's Basketball program continues its American Athletic Conference schedule when it faces Tulsa at 3 p.m., Saturday, inside the Reynolds Center.
The Cougars (12-3 • 2-0 American) have won their last six games and nine of their last 10. Houston enters their second road contest of the week following a tough 78-74 win over Temple in Philadelphia on Tuesday night.
In the lone regular-season meeting against the Owls, redshirt freshman guard Caleb Mills tied his career high with 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting, while sophomore guard Nate Hinton scored 10 points with 13 rebounds for his team-leading seventh double-double of the season.
Senior center Chris Harris Jr. added 11 points and 12 rebounds for the first double-double of his career and added three points and three blocked shots without a turnover in 21 minutes.
This season, sophomore guard Quentin Grimes leads four Cougars among The American's Top-25 scoring leaders with 14.1 points per game. The Woodlands, Texas, native is joined by Hinton (12.5 ppg, 19th), Mills (12.3 ppg, 20th) and junior forward Fabian White Jr. (11.0 ppg, 25th).
The Cougars continue to establish themselves as one of the nation's elite rebounding teams. Houston leads the nation in rebounding margin (+11.9), offensive rebounding percentage (41.0) and offensive rebounds per game (15.4) and ranks second in the country with 43.7 rebounds per game.
