Three-day tournament tees off Sunday morning in Dallas
DALLAS – The University of Houston Men's Golf program returns to action this weekend when it competes at the Trinity Forest Invitational at Trinity Forest Golf Club.
The three-day, 54-hole event begins with an 8 a.m., split-tee start on Sunday and continues with 18 holes each day through Tuesday.

THE LINEUP
The Cougars will be represented by senior Logan Young, junior Luke Long, senior Matt Cole, junior Andrew Gibson and junior Alexander Frances.
Young finished with an even-par 72 at the season-opening Lone Star Invitational in San Antonio on Sept. 16-17 to finish sixth individually and help lead the Cougars to a second-place team showing.
Long tied for seventh at 217, while Cole tied for 10th at 219 in his Houston debut. Gibson and senior George Gardner joined the group among the Top-20 individual leaders.
TEAM FIELD
The Cougars will compete against Abilene Christian, Arizona State, Ball State, Charleston, Denver, Kansas State, Little Rock, Marquette, Mississippi State, North Texas, Rice, Sam Houston State, UC Davis, UTSA, Virginia and host SMU.
Nine of the 17 teams in the field are ranked in the Top 100 of Golfweek's Sagarin rankings.
PAIRINGS
For Monday's First Round, the Cougars will compete in groups with student-athletes from UC Davis and Sam Houston State.
Frances starts the day at 8:05 a.m., Sunday, off No. 10, with Gibson (8:14 a.m.), Cole (8:23 a.m.), Long (8:32 a.m.) and Young (8:41 a.m.) following.
UP NEXT
Following the Trinity Forest Invitational, the Cougars will take a break from their schedule before returning to action at the Intercollegiate on Oct. 28-29 on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Fla.
That tournament will be held on the same course as the 2020 American Athletic Conference Championships in late April.
