Bell earns eighth win of win; Barker tallies three hits
The win on Sunday afternoon improved the Cougars' record to 26-14 and 3-6 in the American Athletic Conference. Sunday's victory also improved Houston's record 21-3 on the year when the Cougars score first in a contest.
On the day, the Cougars' offense was led by senior outfielder Sarah Barker, who posted at game-high three hits in the game. She was joined by junior infielder Arielle James and sophomore infielder Tierrah Williams, as those who collected hits against the Golden Hurricane (26-12, 7-2 AAC).
In the circle, senior Presley Bell tossed all seven innings for the Cougars, surrendering two earned runs in her 108 pitches thrown. She earned her eighth victory of the year, extending her career-high for wins in a season.
