Cougars look to extend five-game winning streak
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Softball team continues its seven-game road swing with a midweek competition at Texas State on Tuesday. First pitch is slated for 5:30 p.m.
Despite having won seven of the last eight contests between Texas State (25-19), including two wins this season, Houston (31-15) looks to avenge its last time in San Marcos, when the Cougars fell to the Bobcats back in 2011. In the 25-game history between the two squads, the Cougars have held the longest winning streak at five games, which spanned from 2012-13.
Houston seeks to sweep its season series from Texas State, having already taken down Texas State twice this season. This would be the second time in the series' history that the Cougars sweep the season series from the Bobcats.
The Cougars enter the contest with the Bobcats on a hot streak of late, having won six of their past seven games, including five in a row. This is the second time this season Houston has put together a winning streak of at least five games.
