Houston Ready to Compete in Clover Cup

MESA, Ariz. – The University of Houston Women's Golf program will continue its spring season by competing in the Clover Cup at Longbow Golf Club.
Hosted by Notre Dame, the three-day, 54-hole tournament begins with 18 holes Friday on the 6,184-yard, par-72 course and will continue with 18 holes each day through Sunday. Play begins at 10 a.m. (CDT) each day.

TEAM FIELD
The Cougars will compete against Notre Dame, Cincinnati, FIU, IUPUI, Kansas State, Kentucky, Mercer, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, UNCG, USC, Western Carolina and Wisconsin.
THE LINEUP
Under the leadership of 2018 American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year Gerrod Chadwell, the Cougars will be represented by senior All-American Leonie Harm, freshman Hannah Screen, senior Maddy Rayner, junior Amanda Elich and senior Tatiana Pineda.
Freshman Maria Jose Martinez will compete as an individual.
Screen had her best performance of the season at the ICON Invitational. The Berkhamsted, U.K., native earned a career-best fourth-place with a score of 2-under 214 at The Woodlands Country Club.
Harm is the season-leader in scoring average with 72.06 and also leads the Cougars with eight rounds of par or better rounds
Rayner ranks third on the team with a 74.55 scoring average and is tied for third with three rounds of par or better rounds.
FIRST-ROUND PAIRINGS
The Cougars will compete in groups with student-athletes from Oklahoma and USC.
Pineda will begin the tournament for Houston off No. 1 at 11:40 a.m. (CDT) with Elich (11:50 a.m.), Rayner (noon), Screen (12:10 p.m.) and Harm (12:20 p.m.) following.
UP NEXT
Following the Clover Cup, the Cougars will travel to Tucson, Ariz., to compete in the Mountainview Collegiate on March 22-24 at the Preserve at Saddle Brooke.
From there, the team will compete in the Bruzzy Challenge at Lantana Golf Club in Dallas on April 1-2.
