Cougars host Roadrunners to close five-game homestand
HOUSTON -- The University of Houston Baseball team hosts UTSA at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Don Sanders Field at Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park.

SINGLES
• Houston is coming off a home series sweep of Army over the weekend. The Cougars won 6-3, 3-2 and 9-7 to move back to .500 on the season. On Sunday, senior first baseman Joe Davis hit a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning.
• In all three games against the Black Knights, Houston recorded a triple. The Cougars rank second in the American Athletic Conference with five on the season.
• Davis was named The American Player of the Week on Monday. In the fourth week of the regular season, the Austin native turned in a .625/.625/1.062 slash, going 10-for-16 with one double, two home runs, eight RBI and two runs scored.
• Davis ranks second in The American and is 11th in the nation in home runs (6). He leads the league in slugging percentage (.818) and is tied for first in RBI (19). Davis also ranks fourth in batting average (.382), tied for fourth in doubles (6) and is sixth in hits (21).
• For his efforts against Army, junior right-handed pitcher Devon Roedahl was named to The American Weekly Honor Roll. Roedahl bookended the series with a save and win out of the bullpen. He limited the Black Knights to three hits with one walk and five strikeouts across four scoreless innings.
• Roedahl leads The American with a 3-0 record, with all three victories coming out of the bullpen. His three wins mark the second highest total in the nation.
• Junior third baseman Jared Triolo, who leads the team in walks (8) and runs scored (11), has reached base in all 14 games to start the season. However, his reached base safely streak ended at 12 games, reaching only on an error against Army on March 8.
• Freshman second baseman Brad Burckel is tied for third in the conference in hit by pitch (5), while Houston ranks fourth as a team (16).
• Junior right-handed pitcher Fred Villarreal co-led the nation with a 0.00 ERA through Houston's first 10 games. His streak without allowing an earned run to start the season ended at 13 and one-third innings with two runs surrendered against Rice on March 5.
• Senior designated hitter Rey Fuentes III was named to the Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic All-Tournament Team on March 5. At the tournament, Fuentes III batted .300 with one double, one home run, one RBI and three runs scored. The homer, which came against Texas State on March 2, was the first of his career.
• Houston is batting .221 as a team and has a 4.46 ERA, compared to opponents' .242 average and 3.64 ERA.
ON UTSA
• The Roadrunners enter Tuesday with a 7-9 record, highlighted by a 10-7 win over then No. 19 Texas. UTSA's trip to Houston marks the end of a four-game road swing after a 0-3 showing at Auburn over the weekend.
• Freshman Dylan Rock, who is batting .418, has hit safely in 16 games. Rock ranks second in Conference USA in on-base percentage (.500) and doubles (7), ranking 24th nationally in the ladder.
• UTSA ranks second in the CUSA in doubles (36)
• Senior Bryan Arias entered 2019 tabbed Third-Team Preseason All-America by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association as well as Collegiate Baseball.
• The Roadrunners, who finished 32-24 overall and 16-13 in conference play in 2018, were tabbed to finished seventh in the CUSA Preseason Poll.
• UTSA is batting .264 as a team and has a 4.47 ERA, compared to opponents' .255 average and 4.57 ERA.
Following Tuesday, the Cougars will play their first true road games of the season with a three-game series at Dallas Baptist starting Friday.
PARKING IN 2019
Gameday parking is offered in a different capacity than in prior years. Anyone entering Lot 16B (across the street from right field) will be subjected to paying a third party company employed by campus. This lot will no longer be an option for free parking on gamedays. All other lots surrounding the stadium will be free of charge two hours prior to first pitch.
