ABOUT THE COUGARS
Under the leadership of 2018 American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year Kelvin Sampson, the Cougars have tied for the fifth-highest single-season win total in school history and are only one win from tying the team's record for regular-season wins
For his team's impressive performance, Sampson was recognized earlier this week as a Werner Ladder Naismith Coach of the Year Late-Season Candidate, joining 14 other coaches nationwide.
Davis leads the Cougars with 16.0 points per game, while Brooks stands second with 13.7 points per game and a team-best 6.3 rebounds per contest. Brooks recently became the fifth player in school history to drain 200 3-pointers in his career and needs only four more treys to become the sixth player in Houston history with 100+ treys in a single-season, joining Davis in that exclusive group.
