Sunday's game features the Top-2 teams in the American Athletic Conference standings. It also will be the first time the Cougars have played as a ranked team against a ranked team in Houston since competing as the No. 3 team in the country in a 64-61 win over No. 11/11 Arkansas in Hofheinz Pavilion on Feb. 26, 1984.
The Cougars (22-1, 9-1 The American) enter this weekend's game following a tough 77-68 road win at UCF in Orlando on Thursday night. Senior guard Corey Davis Jr. poured in a career-high 26 points for his eighth 20-point performance of the year, while junior guard Armoni Brooks added 14 points with three 3-pointers to hand the Knights only their second home loss of the season.
Houston has won its last 31 home games for the nation's longest active streak and posted a 58-8 record at home during the last four seasons while competing in three different venues (Hofheinz Pavilion, H&PE Arena, Fertitta Center).
