Houston Adds Four to 2019 Signing Class

Group consists of two junior college transfers and two high school signees
HOUSTON – The Houston Football program welcomed four new members to its 2019 signing class Wednesday as defensive lineman Atlias Bell, running back Terrell Brown, offensive lineman Cam'Ron Johnson and defensive lineman Jamykal Neal made their commitment official on National Signing Day.
The four join the first nine members of the 2019 signing class who signed in December and three who joined the program for the spring semester in January. Five members of the 2018 roster counted forward to the 2019 signing class as Houston has accounted for 21 of 25 allowed spots in the 2019 signing class.

Will have two years of eligibility remaining after transferring from Iowa Western Community College … three-star recruit by 247Sports and Rivals … No. 8 player in the state of Iowa by 247Sports … No. 14 junior college defensive tackle by 247Sports … helped lead Iowa Western to a 10-1 record and a win over Snow Junior College in the Graphic Edge Bowl … saw action in all 11 games, finishing the year with 47 tackles including 12.5 tackles for loss and eight sacks … also had two fumble recoveries, one of which was returned for a touchdown, and one forced fumble … ranked 21st nationally among junior college players with his eight sacks … earned honorable mention NJCAA All-America honors … named to the first team for both All-ICCAC and NJCAA All-Region XI … played in 11 games as a true freshman, totaling 18 tackles including 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks … coached by Scott Strohmeier at Iowa Western … played high school football at Dowling Catholic in Des Moines, Iowa, prior to Iowa Western … helped lead Dowling Catholic to four consecutive Iowa state titles … had seven tackles for loss, three sacks and a blocked punt as a senior in the Class 4A state championship … earned Class 4A All-State Second Team honors as a senior … had 28.5 tackles including 17.5 tackles for loss and eight sacks as a senior … returned a fumble for a touchdown in the Class 4A state championship as a junior, helping to lead Dowling to a 13-0 record … had 32.5 tackles with 15.5 tackles for loss and 11 sacks as a junior … also played basketball for Dowling Catholic.

Three-star recruit by ESPN, Rivals and 247Sports … No. 69 player in the state of Louisiana by 247Sports … rushed 129 times for 962 yards (7.46 yards per carry) and 13 touchdowns in his senior regular season … named a NOLA.com Player of the Week in Week 3 after rushing for 199 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries, and Week 7 after rushing for 126 yards and four touchdowns … helped lead Helen Cox to Class 4A second round … selected for the Jefferson vs. Orleans Parish All-Star Game … earned LSWA Class 4A Honorable Mention honors … coached by Derek LaMothe his senior season at Helen Cox High School … previously played three seasons at John Ehret High School … earned LSWA Class 5A All-State Honorable Mention honors as a junior … signed with Houston over Florida and Arkansas among others.

Jamykal Neal | DL | 6-3 | 315 | Charlotte, N.C. | Hutchinson CC
Will have three years of eligibility remaining after transferring from Hutchinson Community College … helped lead Hutchinson to a 9-3 record, No. 8 ranking in the final NJCAA rankings and a win over Navarro College in the Salt City Bowl … earned All-KJCCC First Team honors … saw action in all 11 games as a senior, finishing the year with 40 tackles including five tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks … coached by Rion Rhoades … played high school football at Myers Park High School in Charlotte, N.C. prior to Hutchinson … also played basketball for Myers Park.
