Cougars look to sweep regular-season series with Owls
HOUSTON – The Houston Cougar Women's Basketball team returns to the road for an 11 a.m. meeting with Temple, Tuesday in Philadelphia.
Tuesday's contest will be aired on ESPN3 and fans can hear the contest against the Owls live via the home for Houston Women's Basketball Radio, UHCougars.com/wbbradio. Live statistics are also available through SideArm Stats, and the official Twitter account of Houston Women's Basketball, @UHCougarWBB, will offer updates throughout the game.

Here are five names, numbers, news items and storylines you need to know about Saturday's American Athletic Conference game against Temple:
TAKE TWO – The Cougars are looking to post a regular-season sweep of the Owls, after defeating them Jan. 12 at the Fertitta Center.
CLEANING THE GLASS – Senior forward Serithia Hawkins has maintained a presence in the paint for Houston. Hawkins is averaging 7.7 boards a game, and is on pace to become only the third Cougar with 900+ boards.
FROM DOWNTOWN – The Cougars continue to be a 3-point threat under Hughey. After setting the school record for 3-pointers made in each of the last two seasons, Houston has made 155 triples so far in 2018-19.
THUNDER DOWN UNDER – Houston has become a threat in the paint, outscoring its opponents downlow in three of its last seven contest.
H-TOWN LOCKDOWN – Houston continues to play lockdown defense this season. The Cougars have forced at least 15 turnovers in 20 of its 21 games and their 21.55 forced per game ranks 18th nationally.
SERIES vs. TEMPLE
Tuesday's meeting is the 11th all-time between the two teams in a series that dates back to Coach Hughey's first season. Houston trails 2-8 all-time in the series, winning the last two meetings, most recently a 78-65 win in Houston on Jan. 12, 2019
ABOUT THE COUGARS
Houston's Jasmyne Harris paces the Cougars in points per game with 16.2 per contest, while Angela Harris also scores in double figures at 10.4 per night. Harris scored a season-high 23 points in the win over Wichita State. Octavia Barnes has scored at least one three in the last 12 games for the Cougars, Dorian Branch sunk five shots from long-range in the Cougars win over SMU
Houston is averaging 71.2 points per game on 40.9 percent shooting from the field and a 29.7 percent mark from beyond the 3-point line. The Cougars allow 68.8 points per game on defense while letting opponents shoot 41.5 percent and 30.6 percent from the field and beyond the arc, respectively.
Serithia Hawkins leads Houston on the glass, pulling down 7.3 rebounds per game after matching a season-high with back-to-back games of 12 against Wichita State and Cincinnati. She recently became the sixth Cougar in program history to score 1,000 points and pull down 800 rebounds.
Houston has been one of the most active defensive teams in the country this season. The Cougars rank second in The American in steals (224), in steals per game (10.7) and turnovers forced per game (21.38). The Cougars' steal numbers rank 22nd and 29th in the nation, respectively, while the turnovers forced average places them 17th in the NCAA.

emple enters Tuesday's contest with an 7-14 overall record and a 3-5 mark in American Athletic Conference play. Temple most recently defeated Wichita State in a 65-40 decision at home on Saturday. Temple is 4-3 when playing at home this season.
The Owls have a pair of players averaging double figures in scoring this season, including a team-best 18.8 from Mia Davis. Alliya Butts scores 15.3 per game to rank second on the team. Temple has won its last three games by an average of 20 points.
