The Cougars (23-1, 10-1 The American) come into the first game of the week following a hard-fought 65-58 win over No. 25/23 Cincinnati inside the Fertitta Center on Sunday. Guards Corey Davis Jr. and DeJon Jarreau poured in 16 points apiece, while senior guard Galen Robinson Jr. finished with 10 points, four rebounds and three assists.
With that win, the Cougars moved into sole possession of first place in the latest American standings. Houston also collected its 32nd streak home win, the third longest streak in school history and the nation's longest active streak.
Thursday's game will be the only time the Cougars will face UConn during the regular season. It also marks the beginning of a stretch, which sees Houston on the road for three of its next four games.
Following Thursday's showdown against the Huskies, the Cougars face Tulane at 1 p.m., Sunday, in New Orleans, and host USF at 5 p.m., Feb. 23, in the Fertitta Center before meeting ECU at 6 p.m., Feb. 27, in Greenville, N.C.

ABOUT THE COUGARS
Davis leads the Cougars with 15.5 points per game and ranks among the nation's Top-20 leaders with an .888 free throw percentage.
Averaging 21.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game in wins over two of the league's Top-3 teams, the Lafayette, La., native was honored as The American Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
Redshirt freshman Cedrick Alley Jr. averaged 7.5 points and 3.0 rebounds per game to earn Freshman of the Week accolades to give the Cougars the sweep of the weekly honors.
Senior point guard Galen Robinson Jr. will compete in the 124th game of his career Thursday, tying for eighth in Houston career history. With Sunday's win over No. 25/23 Cincinnati, the Houston native and Westbury Christian product moved into sole possession of second place in Houston history with 48 conference victories during his career.
Houston great Michael Young holds the school record with 52 conference wins from 1980-84.
Junior guard Armoni Brooks is one of only five players to rank among The American's Top-20 leaders in both scoring (13.8 ppg) and rebounding (6.4 rpg).
ABOUT UCONN
• UConn has posted a 13-11 record in 2018-19 with a 4-7 mark in American Athletic Conference play.
• Huskies are tied with Tulsa and SMU for eighth in the latest league standings.
• UConn is 12-2 in home games this season.
• UConn has lost its last two games and three of its last four... Only a 76-52 home win over ECU on Feb. 3 prevents a longer streak
• In its most recent action, UConn dropped a 78-71 decision at Memphis on Sunday.
• Against Memphis, Sophomore forward Tyler Polley led the Huskies with 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting and added six rebounds... Redshirt freshman forward Sidney Wilson finished with 16 points and added six rebounds, while junior guard Christian Vital and graduate guard Tarin Smith posted 13 points apiece... Senior forward Eric Cobb grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds, while Vital enjoyed team highs of six assists and three steals.
• This season, guard Jalen Adams leads UConn and ranks among The American leaders with 17.0 points per game... Vital stands second with 14.0 points per game but leads the team with 6.1 rebounds per contest... Sophomore guard Alterique Gilbert stands third with 13.0 points per game and averages a team-best 3.8 assists per game.
• Head Coach Dan Hurley is in his first season at Cincinnati and his ninth season as a collegiate head coach.
• Hurley has compiled a 13-11 record at UConn and is 164-116 as a collegiate head coach.
• Previously built a 38-23 record at Wagner (2010-12) and a 113-82 mark at Rhode Island (2012-18).
• Hurley is 1-1 against Houston during his career with both previous meetings coming during his Rhode Island tenure.
