Cougars conclude two-game homestand
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Women's Basketball team will remain inside the friendly confines of the Fertitta Center when the squad host Louisiana Tech on Sunday at 2 p.m.
GAME NOTES
COUGAR FASTBREAK
•Houston enters Sunday's game with a 4-5 overall record this season after dropping its first game at the Fertitta Center to FGCU
• Houston has three players averaging double-digits this season led by Dorian Branch with 12.3 points per game, she is followed by Tatyana Hill who is averaging 10.6 points per game. Julia Blackshell-Fair is third in scoring on the team providing 10.0 points per game and coming off her first career double-double.
• Houston is averaging 68.2 points per game which is second in the conference on 39.0 percent shooting from the field and a 25.4 percent mark from beyond the 3-point line. The Cougars allow 71.4 points per game on defense while letting opponents shoot 40.9 percent and 31.6 percent from the field and beyond the arc, respectively.
• Hill leads Houston on the glass, pulling down 6.4 rebounds per contest. • Houston is a tough team to beat on the glass, averaging 18 offensive boards per game which is 9th nationally and first in The American
• Houston has forced 165 turnovers by its opponents this season, with 15 or more forced turnovers in seven of its nine games. Under Coach Hughey, Houston has been one of the most active defensive teams in the country over the past two seasons. The Cougars are experts at protecting the rim, entering the game ranked 19th nationally in blocks (39) and 31st in Blocks Per Game (4.9).

• Lousiana Tech enters Sunday's contest with an 5-2 overall record. The Lady Techsters most recently defeated McNeese and are on a three-game winning streak
•The Lady Techsters are averaging 71.7 points per game on 41.9 percent shooting from the field and 36.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
• La. Tech enters its 8th season under Head Coaches Brooke and Scott Stoehr and is led in scoring by Keiunna Walker who is averaging 13.3 points per game. Grayson Bright leads the Lady Techsters on the boards with 6.1 rebounds per game, as Amber Dixon leads the squad with 20 assists this season.
