Houston Adds Two Graduate Transfers

HOUSTON - The Houston Football program announced the Tuesday the addition of two graduate transfers in running back Terence Williams from Baylor and cornerback Nick Watkins from Notre Dame. The two are eligible immediately in 2018, each with one season of competition remaining.
The two are the third and fourth graduate transfers to join the Houston program this summer, joining quarterback Quinten Dormady, who arrived in Houston from Tennessee, and receiver Raelon Singleton, who arrived from Utah.

Williams played in 29 games with 11 starts at Baylor and left the program ranked 13th in program history with 1,859 career rushing yards. The Ennis, Texas, native earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors in 2016 after rushing for 1,048 yards with 11 touchdowns on the ground.
He ranked fourth in the Big 12 in 2016 with an average of 5.66 yards per carry and had four 100-yard rushing games on the season, including a career-high 180 yards vs. Texas. Williams played in eight games with five starts in 2017, missing four games due to an injury, and finished the year with 255 rushing yards and one touchdown on 73 carries.
Williams played in nine games as a redshirt freshman in 2015 as a reserve running back and special teamer. He totaled 556 rushing yards and three TDs on 88 carries along with two receptions for seven yards and one blocked punt.
Prior to Baylor, the 2014 Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl selection was the No. 14 athlete nationally by 247Sports and the No. 16 running back nationally by Scout after rushing for 3,085 yards and 40 touchdowns in his final two seasons at Ennis High School, earning All-State honors both seasons.
Watkins arrives in Houston after three seasons of action at Notre Dame where he saw action in 35 games with 10 starts, nine of which came in 2017. He finished the 2017 season with 29 tackles, eight pass breakups and one interception after missing 2016 with a broken arm suffered during spring practice.
He played in 12 games as a sophomore in 2015, making his first career start vs. Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl, where he finished with three tackles and one pass breakup. Watkins played in 11 games as a true freshman in 2014, predominantly on the Fighting Irish special teams.
Prior to Notre Dame, Watkins was ranked the No. 123 player nationally by ESPN. The DeSoto, Texas, native was named to the USA Today American Family Insurance All-USA Texas team in 2013 and was also a First-Team Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Division I All-State pick in 2013. The TAPPS District I Division I Defensive MVP at Bishop Dunne High School, Watkins was ranked the No. 8 player in the Dallas Morning News Top 100 and was selected to play in the Under Armour All-American Game in St. Petersburg, Fla.
