Bouter to Compete in Commonwealth Games

HOUSTON --University of Houston senior diver Micaela Bouter will begin competition at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games on Wednesday at the Optus Aquatic Center.
The senior will represent her home country of South Africa in three events this week after posting two first-place and one second-place finishes at qualifiers last December. Bouter will begin competition Wednesday with the 3-Meter Synchronized Springboard, followed by the 1-Meter on Friday and the 3-Meter in Saturday. Bouter will compete in the 3-Meter Synchronized Springboard alongside Arkansas diver Nicole Gillis.
The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games will welcome over 6,000 athletes and team officials from 71 Commonwealth nations. This is the largest sporting event to be held in Australia in the last decade, and will feature 18 sports and seven para-sports.

Houston will send a group of swimmers to Arizona for the TYR Arena Pro Series. Competition is set to begin Thursday.
