NEW ORLEANS â€" The University of Houston Women's Golf program stood in 11th place Monday following the Second Round at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Championship at English Turn Golf and Country Club.
Competing on the 6,239-yard, par-72 course, the Cougars posted a team score of 306 in Monday's play to stand in 11th with a two-day score of 604.
Sophomore Amanda Elich led the Cougars with a 75 on Tuesday, thanks to a pair of birdies, and was tied for 26th at 150.
Senior Megan Thothong posted a score of 149 through two rounds to lead the Cougars and was tied for 19th. Junior and 2017 All-American Athletic Conference performer Leonie Harm was tied for 33rd at 151, while senior Courtney Tibiletti was tied for 65th at 156. Senior Allie Andersen was tied for 73rd at 159.
No. 14 Florida stood atop the team leaderboard with a score of 584. No. 12 USC was a stroke back at 585 with No. 11 Michigan State (588), No. 40 North Carolina (591), No. 35 NC State (592), SMU (598), No. 25 Miami (Fla.) (598), UCF (601), LSU (602) and No. 10 Oklahoma State (602) rounding out the top-10 leaders.
Florida's Sierra Brooks fired a 69 for the second straight day and held the individual lead with a score of 6-under 138, one stroke in front of Michigan State's Allyson Geer and USC's Jennifer Chang. Florida teammate Elin Esborn stood in fourth at 1-under 143.

FINAL ROUND on TUESDAY
The tournament wraps up with an 8 a.m. shotgun start Tuesday. For Tuesday's Final Round, the Cougars will compete in groups with student-athletes from Oklahoma State and Oregon
Elich will be in the first group off No. 10 with Thothong (second group off No. 10), Tibiletti (first group off No. 11), Harm (second group off No. 11) and Andersen (second group off No. 12) competing.
UP NEXT
Following the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Championship, the Cougars play host to their own The Dickson on Feb. 26-27 at The Woodlands Country Club in The Woodlands, Texas.
From there, Houston will compete at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational on March 13-14 at Kaheohe Klipper Golf Club in Oahu, Hawai'i.
