Senior cornerback leads Houston with seven pass breakups
HOUSTON – Houston senior cornerback Isaiah Johnson has been selected to play in the 2019 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl on Jan. 19 in the Rose Bowl.

The Bryan, Texas, native leads Houston with seven pass breakups on the year, his second season playing cornerback after beginning his career at receiver. Johnson leads the Houston cornerbacks with 56 tackles, two of which have resulted in a loss, while picking off one pass and recording one quarterback hurry.
He has started all nine games he has participated in this season, missing one game due to an injury. In his first season on defense, Johnson saw action in 12 games with five starts in 2017, finishing the year with 45 tackles, nine pass breakups and two interceptions.
Prior to switching to the defensive side of the ball, Johnson recorded 21 receptions for 208 yards in two seasons of action at receiver.
