Houston Heads to Dallas for Weekend Action

Cougars head out for fourth consecutive week of meet action
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Swimming & Diving team will make its return to Dallas, for a weekend meet against SMU and North Texas. Races are set to begin at 11 a.m. on Oct. 20 inside the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium.

All home meets will feature live results through the Meet Mobile App available in the Google Play store and the App Store.
UP NEXT
Houston will return to action Nov. 16-18 at its annual Phill Hansel Invitational. The three-day meet features teams from across the country in a championship style setting.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
- Houston is coming off a second-place finish at the Rice Fall Invitational. Houston posted 16 podium finishes at Rice and swept all of the diving events at the Houston Diving Invitational.
- Two Cougars have earned American Athletic Conference Weekly awards. Zarena Brown has earned Swimmer of the Week honors and Katie Deininger has earned Diver of the Week honors.
- The Cougars captured their second American Athletic Conference Championship at SMU's home pool last season, posting 826 points.
- Houston defeated SMU last season on Oct. 20 in dual-meet action, 210-90 at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center.
- SMU is coming off a sixth-place finish at the SMU Classic against No. 8 Louisville, No. 11 USC, No. 10 Virginia, Iowa and Miami.
- The Mustangs are in their 33rd year under Head Coach Steve Collins
- Houston defeated North Texas twice last season once at the North Texas relays and another time in dual meet action, 228-69 in Houston.
- The Houston diving personnel has seen North Texas in action earlier this season at the Houston Diving Invitational.
- North Texas is in its third season under Head Coach Brittany Roth.
