Houston Set to Host Quad at CRWC

HOUSTON â€" The University of Houston Swimming & Diving team returns to action this weekend against LSU, Tulane and Rice. Events are slated to start at 5 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center Natatorium.
STARTING BLOCKS
- Houston is coming off a SEC clash against Arkansas and Vanderbilt this past weekend.
- The Cougars posted a combined 23 podium finishes last weekend against Arkansas and Vanderbilt, including six first-place finishes.
- Houston swept The American conference weekly awards this past week when Zarena Brown earned Swimmer of the Week accolades and Micaela Bouter notched her 11th Diver of the Week award.
- Houston will go forth its sixth win over LSU in program history, its 23 over Rice, and its 12th straight over Tulane.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
- LSU is in its seventh year under Co-Head Coach and Head Swimming Coach Dave Geyer.
- LSU is 5-8 this season in dual action, last falling to No. 1 Texas A&M in a 174-119 decision.
- The Tigers are led on the springboards by Lizzie Cui who won both the 1-Meter and 3-Meter last weekend.
- Summer Spradley is a force for LSU, posting the programs only NCAA B-Cut last weekend in the 200 Breaststroke.
SCOUTING THE OWLS
- Rice will return to the CRWC for the second time this season.
- Kaitlyn Sweeny is a force for Rice in the pool, earning Conference USA Swimmer of the Week honors last week after posting three individual wins last weekend against No. 12 Arizona and Grand Canyon.
SCOUTING THE GREEN WAVE
- Tulane returns to the CRWC for the second time this season.
- Tulane closed out its home slate with a 155-63 win over Loyola last weekend.
- Olivia Johnson is a leader for the Green Wave, picking up three individual victories against Loyola.
- Anise Muir is a force for Tulane on the springboards, winning both the 1-Meter and the 3-Meter last weekend.
UP NEXT
Houston will get one final tune up before heading to Dallas where it will defend its American Athletic Conference Title. Houston will host its first chance meet on Feb. 10 at the CRWC.
