Houston Adds Darrion Owens to Class of 2018

HOUSTON â€" The Houston Football program closed its 2018 signing class Friday with the addition of linebacker Darrion Owens, a graduate transfer from Miami.

Owens will have one year of eligibility remaining and is eligible immediately as a graduate transfer from Miami where he saw action in 39 games including all 13 games in 2017. Owens totaled 79 tackles including 7.5 for a loss throughout his career at Miami with 35 tackles his senior season, 18 of which came in the final three games of the season. He capped off his Miami career with nine tackles and a pass breakup vs. Wisconsin in the Orange Bowl.
Owens is the seventh member of the 2018 signing class to enroll in classes beginning with the 2018 spring semester, joining junior college transfers Bo Alexander and Gleson Spreewell, along with early high school enrollees Tahj Brown, Garrison Vaughn, Clayton Tune and Julon Williams.
