Houston Unveils 2017 Soccer Schedule

HOUSTON -- A slate featuring seven homes games and three matches against NCAA tournament teams from last season highlight the 2017 Houston Soccer schedule, which was unveiled by first-year Houston Head Coach Diego Bocanegra on Friday morning.
"As a staff, we are excited for the schedule that we are able to put together," Bocanegra said. "In non-conference we get to play against teams from multiple conference with different styles of play. The ultimate goal is to prepare our team for the challenging American Athletic conference."
All home matches will take place at the Carl Lewis Complex.
Following an exhibition game at UTSA (Aug. 13), the Cougars kick off the 2017 slate with a home series. The Cougars will play host to Texas Southern at 7 p.m., Aug. 18, followed by a Sunday match against Northern Arizona at 7 p.m., Aug. 20. This match-up will be the first meeting with the Lumberjacks.
The Cougars hit the road for a four-game stretch. First Houston will travel to California to face Cal State Northridge on Aug. 24. Before facing crosstown rivals Rice at 7 p.m. on Aug. 27. The Cougars will then head east to face a pair of SEC opponents in Mississippi State (Sept. 1) and LSU (Sept. 3).
Houston closes out the remainder of non-conference hosting Southern Miss on Sept. 8 and Lamar on Sept. 10. Houston will then travel for two games inside the state of New Mexico. Up first, the Cougars face the Lobos in Albuquerque on Sept. 15 before heading north to Las Cruces to take on New Mexico State on Sept. 17.
The Cougars open conference play on the road traveling to Oklahoma and Tennessee. Houston faces Tulsa on Sept. 21 before traveling to Memphis to take on the Tigers on Sept. 24. Memphis earned a 2016 NCAA Tournament berth.
Following a bye week, Houston opens the month of October with a visit from the Knights and Bulls. The Cougars play host to UCF on Oct. 5 before facing USF on Oct. 8.
Houston continues with league play on the road with trips to Temple (Oct. 12) and No. 12 UConn (Oct. 15). The American Athletic Conference champion Huskies lost in the Second Round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
The final month of regular-season play continues with two final home games with Cincinnati (Oct. 19) and East Carolina (Oct. 22) before traveling to in-state rival SMU for the final game of the regular season. The Mustangs also earned 2016 NCAA Tournament berth.
Postseason play begins on Nov. 1 with the Quarterfinals of the American Athletic Conference Championships. The semifinals will be held Nov. 3 with the championship match on Nov. 5.

TICKETS
The ticket office is proud to offer the Shasta Pass for the 2017-18 athletic season. For just $80, Cougar fans can purchase one Shasta Pass, which allows season-long general admission entrance to all Houston Soccer, Women's Basketball, Volleyball and Softball home games. JOIN THE COUGAR RESERVES
The Cougars are proud to introduce the Cougar Reserves, a restricted-giving program that directly impacts the needs of the University of Houston Women's Soccer program. Gifts to the Cougar Reserves provide financial support directly to the University of Houston Women's Soccer program for needs beyond the program's operating budget. Revenue generated from the Cougar Reserves is used at the discretion of the Head Coach for program enhancements. Membership in the Cougar Reserves is annual and requires a minimum $125 gift.

For a minimum gift of $125, supporters receive a quarterly email and a Houston dri-fit.
ALL CONFERENCE
For a minimum gift of $250, supporters receive a quarterly email, a Houston dri-fit and game day parking pass.
ALL REGION
For a minimum gift of $500, supporters receive a quarterly email, a Houston dri-fit, game day parking pass and attend one pre-game meal with the team.
ALL AMERICAN
For a minimum gift of $1,000, supporters receive a quarterly email, Houston dri-fit, game day parking pass, attend one pre-game meal with team and a pair of season tickets, including a sideline pass for one spring game.
