AUSTIN, Texas â€" University of Houston Junior Leonie Harm closed out the second round of the Betsy Rawls Invitational on Monday with a 2-under 70 to tie for 11th at even-par 144.
Competing on the 6,491-yard, par-72 University of Texas Golf Club, Harm overcame a 74 in her First Round on Monday morning to tie with teammate Allie Andersen for the Cougars' low round of the day.
Starting on No. 8, Harm rallied from a bogey on No. 9 early in her Second Round and moved back to even par with a birdie on the par-3, 12th hole. After two more pars, the Gerlingen, Germany, native drained birdies on three of four holes at Nos. 15-18.
As a team, the Cougars were tied for fifth with UNLV at 590. Host Texas posted consecutive sub-par team rounds and held the lead at 8-under 568. Arizona State stood in second at 581 with Clemson at 584 and Miami (Fla.) at 586.
Making her season debut, Andersen opened the tournament with a 70 and was tied for 14th at 145. Starting the First Round on No. 9, The Woodlands, Texas, native birdied two of her first four holes.
Although she endured a double bogey on No. 13 and a bogey on No. 18, Andersen made birdies on two holes in a five-hole stretch late in the round and capped her opening round with three straight pars.
Senior Megan Thothong was tied for 36th at 149, while senior Courtney Tibiletti was tied for 59th at 153, Junior Yuka Kajiki stood in 71st at 157.
Clemson's Alice Hewson held the individual lead at 7-under 137, one stroke ahead of Texas' Emilee Hoffman and two strokes in front of Sophia Schubert.

FINAL-ROUND PAIRINGS
Tuesday's Final-Round begins with an 8 a.m., shotgun start. The Cougars will compete in groups with student-athletes from Miami (Fla.) and UNLV.
Harm begins the day off No. 4 with Andersen (No. 5), Tibiletti (first group off No. 6), Thothong (second group off No. 6) and Kajiki (No. 7) following.
UP NEXT
Following the Betsy Rawls Invitational, the Cougars return to action in the Lone Star State when they tee off at the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational. That three-day tournament will be held Oct. 22-24 at Briggs Ranch Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas.
