Cougars Roll Past Tulane, 215.50-135.50

BATON ROUGE, La. â€" The Houston Swimming & Diving team concluded the 2016-17 regular season with a dual meet win over Tulane in part to the Cougars ending Saturday with an additional three podium finishes to conclude the final day of the LSU Quad Meet at the LSU Natatorium.
Houston beat American Athletic Conference foe Tulane by a score of 215.50-135.50. The Cougars fell to No. 25 LSU by a score of 242-111 and Rice, 182-165.
IN THE POOL
Junior Ksenia Yuskova earned a podium finish in the 500-yard freestyle. The Miami (Fla.) transfer netted a time of 4:55.64 to finish second overall.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, freshman Victoria Roubique touched the wall at 1:03.00 to place second overall.
ON THE BOARDS
Freshman Katelyn Abernathy rounded out the podium in the platform dive. The Charlotte, N.C., native earned a score of 202.40 to capture third place. Abernathy's best dive came in the second round on the 7-meter platform â€" her Inward 2 ½ somersault tuck netted a score of 56.70.

UP NEXT
Houston will host the American Athletic Conference Championships for the second consecutive year as the best swimmers and divers in the league visit the CRWC from Feb. 15-18. Following the conference meet, the Cougars will look to close the season at the NCAA Championships, to be held March 15-18 in Indianapolis, Ind.
