Bouter Wins 3-Meter at LSU Quad Meet

HOUSTON â€" Junior Micaela Bouter captured her second three-meter victory Friday night, as the Houston Swimming & Diving team opened the first day of the LSU Quad Meet with seven podium finishes at the LSU Natatorium.
ON THE BOARDS
Bouter netted her highest score of the season in the three-meter springboard event, tallying a score of 335.50 to finish first overall. The reigning American Athletic Conference 3-Meter Champion's highest score came on her fourth dive â€" the reverse 2 ½ somersault tuck earning a score 63.00. The Johannesburg, native rounded out the podium in the one-meter springboard. Bouter netted a score of 265.35 to finish third overall.
IN THE POOL
Sophomore Conor Glenn set a personal best in the 1,000-yard freestyle. The Cypress, Texas, native, captured second in the distance freestyle event touching the wall at 10:11.90, eight second off her previous best.
In the 200-yard backstroke, senior Jasmine Williams and sophomore Jenny Penneck nabbed podium finishes. Williams netted a time of 56.31 while Penneck finished with a time of 56.70 to finish second and third, respectively.
Senior Cameron Balkom touched the wall at 2:18.42 to finish third overall in the 200-yard breaststroke.
The Cougars ended the night with the 400-yard freestyle relay team capturing second overall. The team of Hanna Blewett, Victoria Padial, Michaela Hamrick and Hannah Middleton netted a time of 3:27.94 to give Houston their seventh podium finish of the night.
UP NEXT
The Cougars are back in the water tomorrow for the last day of the LSU Quad Meet. The first event starts at 11 a.m.
COUGARS TO HOST AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP
Houston will host the American Athletic Conference Championships for the second consecutive year as the best swimmers and divers in the league visit the CRWC from Feb. 15-18. Following the conference meet, the Cougars will look to close the season at the NCAA Championships, to be held March 15-18 in Indianapolis, Ind.
