Former Cougar standout Cami Koski has joined Houston Soccer staff as a volunteer assistant Head Coach Chris Pfau announced Friday. Koski returns to Houston from across town after spending the 2015-16 season as a volunteer assistant with the Rice soccer staff, where she trained the Owls goalkeepers.
"To have someone as quality a person as Cami and what she has accomplished here at the University of Houston is amazing for our program," Pfau said. "I have known Cami now for four years, and I am excited to have her a part of our staff and work with our team. The great thing with Cami is she knows what we are trying to do here, how we coach and how we interact with the team. From day one, she has the ability to jump right in and start pushing players to the next level."
The Missouri City, Texas, native was a four year letter winner for the Cougars, ending her collegiate career as one of the top keepers in program history. Koski holds many accolades as a Cougar. In the inaugural season of the American Athletic Conference, the then-senior was named the American Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Year as well as being selected to the First Team All-Conference, a first in program history. During her time at Houston Koski was also named to the 2010 Conference USA All-Freshman Team and C-USA Second Team All-Conference in 2010 and 2012.
Koski holds several program records, including games started (55), games played (63), goalkeeper minutes played (5,525), goals against average (1.22), ties (9) and shutouts (17). She is also second in the program history in saves (299), wins (19) and save percentages (8.18).
