Women's Golf Enjoys Annual Fundraiser

SPRING, Texas â€" For the second straight season, the University of Houston Women's Golf program enjoyed their annual fundraiser with a fun afternoon with student-athletes, coaches, administrators and donors at TopGolf.
Participants enjoyed a delicious lunch with some outstanding desserts before heading to their bays to compete. If the participating teams took advantage of some shots from the Cougars, Assistant Coach Lucy Nunn or Director of Golf Jonathan Dismuke along the way to improved their overall team scores, nobody seemed to mind at all.
For the second straight season, two-time LPGA Player of the Year and two-time LPGA major championship winner Stacy Lewis joined the Cougars at the fundraiser and was a big hit with fans. She is engaged to be married to Houston Women's Golf Head Coach Gerrod Chadwell in August.
For her generosity to the program through the years, Pamela O'Rourke was presented with a flag signed by the American team members of the 2015 Solheim Cup. That group rallied with 8.5 points on the final day in the biggest comeback in Cup history.

Sponsored by Kimberly Wilkinson, the Champions Golf Club team of Robin Burke, Wynn Bray, Tammy Howell and Caroline Hollinger captured the championship.

Funds from Thursday's event will be used to benefit the Houston Women's Golf program in a variety of areas.
