Koutsouveli to Compete at Arena Pro Swim Series

HOUSTON â€" University of Houston swimmer Eleanna Koutsouveli will travel to the Mesa Arena Pro Swim Series in Mesa, Ariz., to compete against some of the world's top swimmers on March 14-16 at the Skyline Aquatic Center.
Koutsouveli will compete in two events, the 100 and 200 backstroke long course meters. At the American Athletic Conference meet, the freshman swept the backstroke events being the first Cougar swimmer to win multiple titles since 2009. Koutsouveli also podiumed in the 400-yard IM, to finish third in the event. The Athens, Greece native currently holds two of the program's records in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke, 54.32 and 1:56.15, respectively.
The 3-day meet is the fourth stop on the Arena Pro Swim Series. The Arena Pro Swim Series at Mesa will serve as a FINA-approved competition where swimmers can achieve qualifying times for the 2016 Olympic Games.
Koutsouveli will begin competition Friday in the 100-meter backstroke and conclude her run Saturday in the 200-meter backstroke.
