Houston Volleyball Announces 2015 Schedule

HOUSTON - The University of Houston Volleyball program and Head Coach Kaddie Platt have announced the 2015 Volleyball schedule that will include four non-conference tournaments and 13 home matches.

The Cougars will kick off the season with the annual Red & White Day on Saturday, Aug. 22. The team will hold a Red & White Scrimmage and Red & White Clinic. The clinic is free for children eighth grade and under starting at noon with the scrimmage following at 2 p.m.
Houston opens the 2015 season on the road for the first three weeks as the Cougars travel to Lubbock, Texas, for the Texas Tech Invitational on Aug. 28-29. Houston Volleyball is set to face Louisiana-Lafayette, Utah State and Texas Tech.
On Sept. 4-5, the Cougars head to Lafayette, La., for the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic. This is the second time in three years that the Cougars have participated in the tournament. Houston will play Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Nicholls State, Jackson State and host Louisiana-Lafayette.
Houston closes out road tourney play with the North Texas Invitational on Sept. 11-12 in Denton, Texas. The Cougars are set for matches against Boise State, Abilene Christian and North Texas during the two-day tournament.
Full schedules for the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic and the North Texas Invitational have not been released.
Houston welcomes Southeastern Louisiana, Alabama A&M and Nicholls State for the fifth annual Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup to close out the tournament season on Sept. 18-19.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE
Houston opens its third season in the American Athletic Conference hosting SMU and Tulsa in the Athletics/Alumni Center on Sept. 25, 27.
The Cougars will play 20 conference matches, 10 at home and 10 on the road - competing against all 10 schools twice. All conference matches will be played on Friday and Sunday with varying times depending on location. Since there are an odd number of conference members, Houston will play travel partner Tulane in two midweek games on Oct. 7 and Nov. 18.
