Platt Completes 2015 Roster With Two Additions

HOUSTON - Houston Volleyball Head Coach Kaddie Platt completed her 2015 roster with the addition of two incoming freshmen Friday morning.
Defensive specialists Kendall Montgomery and Darby Shaw join Katie Krebs and Brookah Palmer to wrap up the 2015 incoming class.
Montgomery is a 5-5 libero/defensive specialist from Round Rock, Texas, who played for Cedar Ridge High School and Austin Juniors Club Team.
"Kendall comes from a great club. She has been well trained and has a lot of great volleyball experience. She has a great platform and see's the game very well," Platt said.
Shaw is a 5-1 libero/defensive specialist from Deer Park, Texas, who played for Deer Park High School and was a member of the Houston Stellar Volleyball Club.
"Darby has unlimited potential with good athleticism and work ethic. One of her best qualities is her speed.She will be a great asset for us on defense," Platt said.

An Academic All-State libero... Played for Cedar Ridge High School in Round Rock, Texas... Named District Defensive MVP and two-time Outstanding Setter Award... Totaled 825 assists, 889 digs, and 125 aces in her four years on varsity... In 2012 and 2013, she earned second team all-district and academic all-district.

Helped team to four District Championships and three Bi-District Championships... Was named the District Defensive MVP in 2014 and 2015... First team All-Academics in 2014... First Team All-District in 2014 and 2015... Nominated as Female Athlete of the Year for Deer Park... Graduated in the top 15 percent of her class... Received Academic Honors and Leadership Award in 2014... Is a peer tutor, member of PALS, the National Honor Society and Choir... Volunteers with Breaking Free and the Run for the Rose.

Darby Shaw... Daughter of Jamie and Danna Shaw... Born July 7 in Clear Lake, Texas... Has an older sister, Blair, who is her biggest influence... Hobbies include singing and watching sports, especially with her family... Majoring in Biochemistry and Liberal Studies.
